21 Weeks with Quads
(July 28, 2008)
The Dr. Visit: The visit was a good one today. I got to lie on a table for 2+
hours while they did measurements and looked at details of each baby. First here
are the baby measurements!!
Baby A – Girl – Heart rate 158 bpm, weight 15oz
Baby B – Boy – Heart rate 138 bpm, weight 1 lb 1oz
Baby C – Girl – Heart rate 160 bpm, weight 1 lb
Baby D – Girl – Heart rate 148 bpm, weight 14oz
All of the babies are right in line with where a singleton would be at this
point so that is great. The weights are estimated by the size of the head,
abdomen, and femur. So they are a guess and can be off by +/- 2oz.
According to Baby Center at 21 weeks gestation a baby weighs about 12oz and is
10 ½ inches long about the length of a carrot.
Everything with me looked good today too. I have gained 36 pounds so far a book
I am reading says I should be up 45 lbs by 20 weeks and 65 lbs by 28 weeks, so
I’m a little behind. The Dr. I saw said there is a chance I could do bed-rest at
home longer, that is great news for me, time goes by so much quicker at home.
My next appointment will be Monday August 4th, 2008. Please pray for an
uneventful week for me.
